General Policies

Auction Close Policy:

Winning Bidders will receive a complete invoice within 24 hours after close of auction. Winning Bidders must contact InterSchola at ebay-info@interschola.com within 3 days following notification of winning bid to make final payment arrangements. Pickup or shipping arrangements will also be made at this time.

Winning bidders may be required to sign a liability release form releasing the existing public agency owner of these assets from future liability as a condition of close of the auction.

Payment Policy:

InterSchola accepts payment through Paypal with a confirmed address, wire/bank transfer, or USPS Money Order ONLY. We regret that we are unable to accept personal checks.

If full payment is not received within 4 days for general items (7 days for automobiles) of auction close, InterSchola reserves the right to cancel the transaction and sell the item to another interested party. A Non-Paying Bidder alert will be filed.

InterSchola will invoice the appropriate sales tax if required. Provision of a valid resale certificate or tax-exempt certification with payment may exempt buyers from sales tax.

Shipping Policy:

If shipping and handling are offered by InterSchola for the item(s), the terms of proposed shipping and handling will be outlined in the Item Description and/or in the “Shipping, payment details and return policy” section of the eBay listing. A small handling fee will be included for packaging materials etc. over and above the calculated shipping costs. InterSchola may ship via FedEx, UPS, or United States Postal Service. InterSchola reserves the right to substitute an equivalent service from another carrier to better meet the needs of a particular situation.

If the items for sale are too large and/or heavy for the carriers listed above, the Item Description will state “Local Pickup Preferred” and/or "Freight Shipping." If local pickup is not possible, Buyer is responsible for both shipping arrangements and expenses. InterSchola will include an additional quote for boxing and/or palletizing in the Item Description. If additional preparations are required (i.e. crating), Buyer is solely responsible for those additional requirements. InterSchola may provide the contact information of a preferred logistics provider to assist the Buyer to arrange freight shipment. All shipping arrangements must be made in advance in coordination with InterSchola’s scheduled pickup calendar.

If the Item Description states "For Local Pickup Only", InterSchola will not prepare this item for transport. All handling will be the responsibility of the Buyer.

Items listed by InterSchola are stored at school district locations. If an item is to be picked up, InterSchola reserves the right to charge a $50 fee plus per diem storage charges if the buyer or his/her shipping/handling company/representative is not present at the pickup day and time specified in the listing or as otherwise agreed to in advance by InterSchola.

If attempts have not been made by Buyer to contact InterSchola regarding pickup or shipping arrangements within 7 days of auction close (prior to published pickup date), InterSchola reserves the right to consider the sale to be static and may resell the item without refund to the Buyer.

Return policy:

InterSchola does our best to present accurate, detailed information about every item we sell. If you have any questions, please email us before placing your bid.

All InterSchola auction items are sold "as-is." We accept returns only if the item(s) was/were not as described in the auction. In such cases, Buyer must return the item(s) to seller location (at Buyer's cost) within 10 days of receipt of goods for a full refund.

Any dispute regarding these services or the offer, auction or sale of the goods will be governed by California law and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in San Francisco, California, regardless of whether the dispute is brought under contract, tort or other principles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do InterSchola auctions have a Buy It Now price? If I make an offer can you end the auction early?
A: InterSchola does not offer a Buy It Now option on live auctions, nor can InterSchola end an auction early. All items that InterSchola sells are the property of our client school districts, and per Education Code, all items must run a full public auction round.

Q: Does InterSchola charge sales tax?
A: Yes, InterSchola charges sales tax for all items that are picked up or shipped within the state of purchase. Sales tax on vehicles will be assessed by DMV (not InterSchola) and are due upon registration. Buyers submitting proof of a reseller license will not be charged sales tax.

Q: Can I come to inspect an item?
A: Yes, an inspection date is included in the item listing. Please contact us with your name and phone number (cell preferred) at least 24 hours before the scheduled inspection time. We will reply with confirmation, location and contact information.

Q: I cannot make the prearranged pickup date. Are there other date options?
A: If you are unable to attend the scheduled pickup date, contact InterSchola prior to bidding. In most cases we can offer a backup pickup date. If you are unable to attend the backup pickup date, a $50 fee may be assessed to arrange pickup on a non-scheduled date.

Q: Can I pickup in the evening or on a weekend?
A: All InterSchola items are stored at the school districts they are being sold for. InterSchola does not have access to the school district premises when the school is closed. This means pickups cannot be arranged for weekends, evenings or Holidays.

Q: Will InterSchola ship an item?
A: InterSchola will ship items that can be sent through USPS, FedEx or UPS. If freight shipment is needed, InterSchola will charge a palletization fee to prepare the item for shipping. The Buyer is responsible for making the shipping arrangements and paying the actual cost of shipping directly to the freight carrier. Please see individual listings for specific information.

Q: Where will my items ship from?
A: InterSchola will ship items from the school district at which they are stored. If you need a zip code for a freight shipping quote, please contact us.

Q: Can InterSchola ship internationally?
A. InterSchola will not ship internationally unless arrangements have been made prior to purchase. Please contact us for more information.

Q: Will there be a forklift or additional manpower to assist at pickup?
A: Some school districts have a forklift available for pickup, but some do not. Please contact us if you will need one. Any additional tools or manpower needed for pickup will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Q: Can I pay at pickup?
A: PayPal is our preferred method of payment. If you prefer to pay at pickup, a money order from the USPS is required. We will not accept personal checks, cash or money orders not drafted by the USPS.

Q: Does InterSchola accept returns?
A: No, InterSchola does not accept returns. All items are sold as-is. Please ask any questions about the condition of an item prior to bidding.

Q: My item arrived with damage. What do I do?
A: If you receive an item that was damaged during shipping, contact InterSchola immediately. We will then assess the situation and advise you of the next step.
